Greensmart Homes Protocol

Greensmart Homes specializes in the manufacturing of Structural Insulated Panels to suit your design. We do produce prebuilt houses. All homes are either converted from customer drawings or custom designed drawings by leading architects. Building control calls for working drawings and structural calculations on all building projects. We can convert your standard drawings to SIP construction and supply the required drawings and estimates.

We can provide on site training to self-builders and contractors.

SIP’s are priced by the square foot. The price varies with the core thickness, height, and dimensional lumber required in point load positions. SIP’s are supplied as single modules or we can engineer them to your design requirements preparing all the window/door apertures and supplying all the sole plates connection elements, fixing etc. Greensmart Homes can also supply totally engineered solutions RTA (ready to assemble).

SIP roofing modules are now available up to 24’ in length X 8’ wide X 10 ¼” thick. We can give square foot pricing, but due to our type of construction system, we prefer to quote each plan here on an individual basis. This helps us to provide you with a more accurate, like for like pricing. The more detailed the drawing, the more efficient the estimate. We cannot scale off of drawings without dimensions or provide estimates from verbal information.

THE FOLLOWING IS THE PROTOCOL FOR GETTING STARTED:

1. Send us your drawing, we will then send you an estimate on what SIP Modules will cost for your design. We also require the civil and legal lot description complete with Lot Plan.
2. If you approve the estimate, on receipt of your deposit and acceptance, we will commence full SIP design, layout and working drawings as required. The cost of this is normally in addition to an engineered/supply and erect price. In the case of panel supply only these costs are to your account.
3. Our Structural Engineer will carry out all necessary structural calculations and then certify the design.
4. The drawings will be sent to you for review and approval.
5. Upon final approval of the overall plan, Greensmart Homes will begin the construction and assembly of the high quality Greensmart panels for your project.
